This particular project was part of a full re-configuration and restoration of a large 1930’s detached property in the heart of Yorkshire. Part of the ground floor east wing, this fully bespoke cinema install really brought the restoration to the next level in terms of modernization and entertainment
This Cinema includes our incredible starlight ceiling system and Control 4 lighting and AV automation.
MBL carried out the full design and install of the Cinema as well Electric Gate control and Intercom which was added to the Control4 Integration. We offer an all in one solution for our cinema room builds, this includes the joinery work needed for the cabinetry to house the fridge and ventilation systems, rack enclosure and coffered ceiling you see here as well as the stud work for fabric walls that incorporate acoustic treatment and speaker enclosures. We offer multiple variations of starlight ceiling, this particular system able to fully oscillate each fiber-optic individually.
The cinema room was specified with Control4 dimmable automated lighting systems that control all lighting in the cinema. This includes the beautiful glowing strip light around the coffered ceiling, starlight and the downlighters for around the room. These lights are fully programmable as different lighting states that suit different entertainment such as ‘gaming’, ‘football’ and ‘film’. This can all be triggered from the cinemas Control4 Keypad, their Neo Remote, Smartphone or even when selecting Netflix.
This cinema is a tech fest to say the least. The 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos speaker array is comprised of 7 ear level speakers, with L C R hidden behind the gigantic Screen Research acoustically transparent cinema screen with the ear level surround speakers concealed in speaker enclosures behind the fabric wall. Sub-woofers are the solid and accurate … range and are active (have their own built in amps) these are also built in behind the fabric walls in a stereo configuration. Finally, the height layer Atmos speakers are discretely mounted in the ceiling and bring crisp detail to the environments you’re watching on-screen.
Speakers are powered and the subwoofers signals are fed by the amazing Anthem MRX 1140 AVR with some of the best built in speaker/room calibration on the market. Alongside the incredible the highest resolution Shield streamer and Sony 4k VPL projector that shines stunning detail onto the screen, the impressiveness and immersion of this system has to be seen and heard to be believed.
